Here is wreath number two. It also makes use of some vintage buttons, but with a far different effect. I wanted to play with texture so I used my fancy new stitches and some buttons and faux pearls for this one. I decided not to cut out the center, for fear of ruining it. I think it has a sort of angelic and beachy feel all at once. It may be too pretty to sit in the hallway of my apartment house, where the neighbors will get to see it more than me. Maybe I’ll just buy one of those cheap paper cutouts from the drugstore for the front door and leave all the nice handcrafted goodies for inside.
There’s at least one more wreath coming. Stay tuned.

Oh my–this is gorgeous! I love all the little details you included. What type of fabric did you use?

Thanks, Misty! It’s done on linen — the plain 100% stuff from Joann’s. I’ve started buying it in bulk (with a coupon, of course!) because I love it so much.

What a gorgeous wreath! I love the effect of the white and cream on the natural linen. It reminds me of a ribbon embroidery that I made which is supposed to be hanging in the baby’s room. *Must* get it hanging!
Thanks for entering my giveaway, I’ve been visiting the blogs of all the people who entered, it’s taking up all my time! Just had to comment on this project of yours though
